Practice makes positive

There are so many things to be grateful for. Now more than ever, we must remember, keeping ourselves well is a top priority. Our physical health is directly tied to our mental wellness. Practise makes positive!

Much like an exercise routine, practising daily positivity helps my mental wellness. I’m a silver linings type of person, and I prefer to see the good in everything.

Finding healthy ways to foster positivity in your life means making a few changes.

Let’s look at some practical steps you can take:

Nutrition Anxiety and depression have been linked to diets high in processed sugar. Sugar causes inflammation in the body, which in turn causes stress. Quality food is like putting gas in your car. The right fuel will help you go the distance. Finding the right fuel takes time, so keep track of what you eat and monitor how your body responds. If you want to address your nutritional needs you can make the necessary changes where you can and gradually work to improve your eating by making healthy substitutions. You’ll find your energy and mental clarity improve.

Exercise It is noted, exercise releases “happy hormones.” It is directly linked to an improved physical and emotional sense of well-being. This, in combination with improved eating habits, will reduce inflammation in your body. I would personally recommend you start with 30 minutes a day. If you’re a beginner, then you could pick a preferred activity and make a habit of doing it at the same time every day.

Reduce stress To reduce stress, it’s good to find activities which allow you to calm the mind. I enjoy painting and writing. It’s a non-intensive activity which allows you to relax and breathe.

Positivity takes daily practice. These are easy ways to help in the process. The body and mind are connected. The more we look after both, the happier we shall be.
