COLLEEN GREEN The Standard
SCUGOG: The Port Perry Fair is back, and with it is its celebrated concert. The year's Fair will run from Saturday, September 2nd to Monday, September 4th. This year's much-anticipated concert will be held on Sunday, September 3rd. Local singer, Leah Daniels, will be opening the show at 8 p.m. This year's headliner is rising star Nate Haller. He will be hitting the stage at 9 p.m. In the short time since his breakout on the country music scene, Nate Haller has already made his mark as Canadian country's can't-miss show, bringing unmatched vocals and undeniable grit to every stage he steps on. Mentored by Zubin Thakkar (Shawn Mendes) and having played alongside Canada's top artists (The Reklaws), Nate has lived through a crash course of the music industry, in his 10+ years, in the biz. Signed to Starseed Entertainment (Dean Brody, James Barker Band, The Reklaws, Jade Eagleson, SACHA), 2021 saw Nate take his rightful spot on centre stage. Following the success of his first single, "Lightning in a Bottle," which landed him his first Top 10 on Canadian radio, Nate has continued to check items off his bucket list, including sold-out shows at the Calgary Stampede and Toronto's Bud Stage. He has also collaborated with some of Canadian country's biggest artists ("Somewhere To Drink" feat. The Reklaws and Brett Kissel). Nate boasts more than 18M+ global career streams, has been named iHeart Radio's Future Star, been a semi-finalist in the 2021 SiriusXM Top of The Country, scored a 2022 CCMA AwaRising Stanomination, won his first CMAOntario Award for Rising Star, was named Amazon Music's Breakthrough Artist of the Month, secured a spot on Spotify Canada's RADAR program and has been featured as the cover of countless prominent playlists. Releasing a steady stream of party bangers that anchor his rowdy live show, it's no wonder Nate is THE voice to watch in country music. His new single, "Take My Name," found on his debut album PARTY IN THE BACK, is available everywhere now. To say that Leah Daniels’ career has been a whirlwind to this point would be an understatement. From watching her single “Go Back” skyrocket into the top 20 on Canadian Radio to winning the CRMA (Canadian Radio Music Award) as the 2016 FACTOR Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award, this small-town girl is making big waves. Hailing from Uxbridge Ontario, Leah has a knack for making fans coast to coast, and nothing illustrates this more than her 4 CCMA nominations for Interactive Artist of the Year. This shouldn’t come as a shock as she has accumulated a cross-platform social following of over 40,000 fans and has more than two Million views on YouTube. The 2016 CMAO Female Artist of the Year Winner has had the privilege of playing in the country's top Country Music Festivals, including CMT Fest, Boots & Hearts and Big Valley Jamboree, just to name a few. Recently, Leah has found herself travelling back and forth from Nashville to LA in preparation for launching her next album. Working with world-class producers such as Brian Howes (Hinder, Daughtry, Boys Like Girls & Taylor Swift) and Sam Ellis (Hunter Hayes, Danielle Bradbery and Thomas Rhett), you won’t want to miss what Leah Daniels has in store. Admission to the concert is included in your Port Perry Fair entry fee. Not only do you get to see a great concert, but you get to enjoy all the Fair has to offer.
