KAWARTHA LAKES: The City of Kawartha Lakes is targeting July 20th as the date to open pools at the Lindsay Recreation Centre. CAO Ron Taylor told Kawartha Lakes Councillors this plan during a meeting on Tuesday, June 23rd. “We would not be in a position to be opening our other pool, [Forbert Memorial Pool] at the same time, because we are doing construction and maintenance to that facility in the summer time,” CAO Taylor added. The CAO said, during a telephone press conference on Wednesday, June 24th, the City has already done some “maintenance and preparatory work” on the Lindsay pools. CAO Taylor told The Standard Bobcaygeon’s Forbert pool won’t begin operating again until the fall.
