SCUGOG: Let’s Glow Salon (LGS) in Port Perry is helping people become their best selves. The local business, located at 271 Mary Street, opened in the summer of 2019. The salon specializes in medical aesthetics such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, and professional skincare treatments like chemical and enzyme peels. They also carry medical-grade skin care products and offer airbrush spray tanning. “One of the main drives for this business was skin health,” owner Erica McLaughlin told The Standard. The business’s slogan is “age gracefully with Let’s Glow Salon.” Ms. McLaughlin described the atmosphere inside the business as “relaxing and aesthetically pleasing.” “The ability to be my own boss and help clients achieve their skincare goals was the allure behind starting the business,” Ms. McLaughlin explained. “I’ve been nursing for 10 years and I’ve always been interested in the medical aesthetics field. I found out rather quickly that I have a flair for the artistry behind it. I started LGS as a side business about four years ago and I’ve met some really great clients along the way. For me, improving someone’s self-confidence and helping them reach their skin care goals has been really fulfilling.” She also likes the fact the business is located directly in the downtown area. “We love our new location and being downtown, so close to everything,” she said. “We love Port Perry, the small town feel is really nice. I really like the fact everyone’s been really positive and supportive towards my business.”
