On Sunday Winter proved again to have the upper hand, creating quite the “Winter Wonderland”. Several events are scheduled leading up to Christmas. First, the Community Christmas Pot Luck meal, at Utica Hall on Sunday, December 8th at 6:30 p.m. A donation to the food bank would be appreciated. The Epsom-Utica United Church Women (UCW) have invited ladies of the community to a potluck dinner on Tuesday, December 10th at 12 p.m. at the church. On December 18th a Longest Night Service will be held at Epsom church at 7 p.m., a reflective service for those mourning or struggling during this season. On Tuesday, we will celebrate December 24th the Christmas Eve Candlelight and Carol Service at Epsom United Church at 7 p.m. Doug Ferris will lead the congregation at Epsom United Church this Sunday, the second Sunday of Advent. Some other events taking place around the community….Leah Daniels has a Christmas Concert at the Sunderland Hall on Sunday, December 22nd. Leah is an amazing Country artist. Naomi Bristow will be at Faith United Church, in Courtice on Tuesday, December 17th bringing her beautiful voice for our enjoyment. The students from Port Perry High School will share their awesome talent in a Christmas program on Wednesday, December 18th, at 7 p.m. We had the pleasure of attending Irwin Smith’s Concert at Prince Albert United Church on Friday evening. Irwin captured everyone with his “I want to listen to you forever” voice. Thanks Prince Albert for showcasing such a talented artist for our enjoyment. If you know of events, please email faye.eaglesnest@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
