EPSOM & UTICA by Faye Ashton

Wow, hard to complain about the beautiful weather we are enjoying. September and October are the months many of us totally enjoy with less humidity and cooler evenings.

The last couple of weeks we have remembered the devastation of 9/11, the heroics’ of so many and Terry Fox. Terry showed such strength of character and determination for a cause that still encourages us today. Billie Ray Cyrus’s song “Some gave some, some gave all” was a fitting tribute to both Terry Fox and the heros of 9/11.

The Holstein show at the Port Perry Fair Grounds had over a hundred head of cattle shown. The competition was keen. The Uxbridge Fair had many virtual entries. The Uxbridge 4H calf club had their achievement day at the fair grounds as did the sheep club during fair time. Thank you to all those who work so hard to bring about these events.

Congratulations to Luke and Erin Mast on the arrival of baby daughter Andiy Rae 7lb.1oz on September 8th. Welcome to this community.

We are bidding farewell to Arnis Pukitis and Ann Joyner as they will soon be moving to their new home. Wishing you many happy and memorable years there, as you experienced here.

Again I want to say Thank You to all the surrounding churches that put their services on computer. It has made this time of closure more enriching.

We welcome everyone back to Epsom Church (protocol in place and masked) on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 10th at 10 a.m. We hope this 4th wave doesn’t alter everyone’s plans again.
