Donate food where it is needed most

Amanda Carvalho Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Ross Memorial Hospital, Special to The Standard

KAWARTHA LAKES: On behalf of Ross Memorial Hospital, Kawartha Lakes Police Service, OPP and Kawartha Lakes Paramedics, we are grateful for the community’s support, as we work together in the fight against COVID-19. Our priority is to maintain the safety of our team so we can continue to serve our community. Our teams have received several prepared meals and restaurant food deliveries over the past few weeks, which is an extremely thoughtful gesture. We kindly ask that members of the public and local restaurants refrain from sending these food donations to our team. These donations, which are often in shared containers, create a gathering place for our team members. This works against our efforts at physical distancing, at work and in the community. We ask you direct non-perishable food donations to Kawartha Lakes Food Source (705-324-0707) instead. Your donations can benefit so many people in our community during this challenging time. Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We’re all in this together!
