UXBRIDGE: The Christmas season starts with the 2022 Uxbridge Toy Drive, once again organized by Pat Higgins, owner of the Uxbridge Canadian Tire.
“I am thrilled to announce, our Annual Toy Drive is ready for 2022!” said Mr. Higgins.
All drop-off bins were placed on November 14th and are ready to accept donations for this year’s toy drive.
Mr. Higgins said, he and the volunteers would also have the toy drive vehicle ready. The vehicle was provided courtesy of Jim and Todd Williamson, who annually support the drive.
The toy drive always needs items specifically meant for teenagers and infants, such as electronic games and collector items (sports cards, stamps, etc.). A full list is available on the Toy Drive website. Cash and gift cards are also welcome.
Please have your donations and gifts donated by December 18th. This gives volunteers and everyone involved with the drive ample time to pick up, sort and distribute the gifts in time for Christmas Day.
Drop-off points include: BodyFit, Uxbridge Canadian Tire, Uxbridge’s Zehrs, Uxbridge’s McDonald’s and Uxbridge Bruins home games.
“Your annual support of this community initiative is always appreciated,” stated Mr. Higgins.
Pat would like to thank the Director of Legislative Services and Clerk, Debbie Leroux and the Township of Scugog for lending a local facility to volunteers. The facilities will be used for sorting and distribution purposes.
Many other groups and organizations are involved, supporting and collaborating with the 2022 Uxbridge Toy Drive. Some examples include: local churches, shelters and schools.
Mr. Higgins specifically mentioned the local Salvation Army, the Uxbridge Food Bank, Uxbridge Loaves & Fishes Food Bank, and thanks everyone for their support.
