DAN CEARNS The Standard
SCUGOG: The Scugog Community Centre Hall is expected to be packed with antique items next Saturday, Feb. 6 and Sunday Feb. 7, when it hosts the Nineteenth annual Port Perry Antique and Nostalgia Show.
At least 25 vendors coming from across Ontario will be taking part in the two-day event. Show convener Marilyn Pearce told The Standard that the winter is the best time to hold events such as this.
“In the middle of winter, everyone is bored so it is a good time to come out and look at some items that bring out nostalgia,” Ms. Pearce said, adding that there are several reasons why people should come out to this annual show.
“First is that all the proceeds go to the Lake Scugog Historical Society for their community projects,” Ms. Pearce said. “Second is that if people enjoy these types of events, it is important that they support them.”
The convener also wanted to add that it is the community that has kept the vendors coming back each year.
The show takes place on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission into the event is $4, and is good for both days.
