Annual Lindsay Christmas Tree Giveaway Brings Early Holiday Spirit Local Insurer Raises Holiday Cheer and Charity Donations
LINDSAY: Local home and auto insurance company The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group today announced their festive holiday gift to the communities that they serve. The company will be distributing 150 Christmas trees to families in Lindsay on Saturday, December 3rd in exchange for a cash donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
To kick off the holiday season, The Commonwell will use the tree giveaway as an opportunity to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in Peterborough, Kawartha and District, pledging to boost all public donations raised with a $500 donation to each region.
“Over the past three years, our Christmas tree giveaway has become a big part of our annual connection to our communities. We’re thrilled to bring it back again for 2016,” said Tim Shauf, President and CEO of The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group. “The holiday season can be an extremely busy time for families and finding the perfect Christmas tree can fall low on the list of priorities. We wanted to make it that little bit easier for families to get into the festive spirit and raise money for a great local charity at the same time.”
