SCUGOG: Canadian country music artist Aaron Pritchett is once again looking to thrill the Port Perry crowd, when he performs at the Scugog Summer Jam on Saturday, July 1st.
Mr. Pritchett will be performing as the headliner, for the second night of the three day festival being held at the Port Perry Fairgrounds.
“It’s somewhere I’m pretty familiar with, so it’s nice to come down and put on a show,” Mr. Pritchett said.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pritchett has performed many times in Port Perry. His first performance in Port Perry was at the Port Perry Fair in 2006.
“It was an unbelievable evening. We had a great time with a lot of great fans,” Mr. Pritchett told The Standard.
Last year, Mr. Pritchett performed in the Winding Roads Music Festival, at Sunnybrae Golf Club.
“It was great. It was what it always has been in Port Perry, which is great fans coming out and supporting country artists,” he said.
He added that his tour manager, Kim Stoneburg, lives in Port Perry.
Based on having ties to the area and having had performed in Port Perry before, Mr. Pritchett said, the decision to perform at Scugog’s music festival this year was a “no-brainer.”
“It was an easy decision to say I would love to be a part of it,” he said.
“It’s always nice to be asked to be one of the first acts to perform at a new festival.”
Mr. Pritchett describes his music style as being “rock based country.”
“I grew up in the 1980s and listened to a lot of rock music. My influences ranged from Van Halen to Stevie Wonder.”
He encourages fans to reach out to him on his social media accounts. People can also learn more about Mr. Pritchett on his web-site, at www.aaron-pritchett.com.
Big Wreck will headline the first night of the festival, on Friday, June 30th, with The Pick Brothers Band and The Bomb also performing that night. Brooklyn Roebuck and Marshall Dane will perform on July 1st.
Gates and the beer tent will open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the gate, or people can buy a combined ticket for the Friday and Saturday for $60. They can be bought online, at www.ticketfly.com, or at Vos’ Independent in Port Perry.
