UXBRIDGE: In celebration of 159 years serving the community, Uxbridge Baptist Church will be holding an outdoor service and barbecue at Elgin Park. The outdoor service/event called “Worship Without Walls,” will also feature guest speakers, musical performances as well as a dance performance. The service begins Sunday, June 12, at 10 a.m. and is free for all ages. Speaking to The Standard, Kathy, of Uxbridge Baptist Church said the event will have something for everyone. “Mayor Gerri Lynn O’Connor will bring her greetings, and we’ll also feature a special guest speaker, Tim Teakle, and a live band called ‘The Redemption Band,’” said Kathy. ‘Worship Without Walls’ will also have a community kids choir and dance group. After the service, the public is welcome to enjoy a free barbecue and enjoy some old- fashioned picnic games, including the ever intense and competitive ‘tug-of-war.’
