The teams representing the North Durham United Football Club are in the last legs of their regular season and tournament schedules. The club is enjoying success with a number of teams this year, and there was another big story this past weekend with great result at the Niagara Falls
Tournament by the U14 Girls team. The squad played six games over two days, to get to the finals and capture the Silver Medal. The girls played terrific soccer in all their games, including a penalty shootout victory in the semi-finals. With only a few minutes rest between games, the girls battled hard in the finals, as they came away with a much deserved second place result.
Coach Beth Murray and all the coaches are extremely proud of every one of the players. The team sits at 2nd spot in their division, and have earned a spot in the Cup Finals against Oshawa later this month.
The U13 Boys continue to have a strong season, with a 3-2 victory in Whitby.
Ethan Cannon had the troika and is in second spot overall for league scoring.
The U15 Girls earned a 2-0 shutout victory over North Scarborough this past week, with goals coming from Sophie Pritt and Catriona Deacetis.
Coach Rob's team continues with another strong season, despite the loss of a handful of players over the winter.
The Trading Post sponsored U17 Boys team went into Whitby and battled with their usual physical and unrelenting style, as they just came up short for a result.
Zachary Harrison and Daniel Cehajic both provided classic top corner goals in the match, with young Owen Collins making his regular season debut, after a long absence due to an earlier injury.
Coach Cole's club heads to Peterborough this week before a tournament in Ottawa on the weekend.
