LINDSAY: If you where in the Lindsay Square mall this week you may have noticed a beautiful line up of uniquely decorated Christmas trees, displayed in the middle of the mall's main hallway.
This was part of the Five Counties Winterfest event, which ran from November 26th to 29th.
Each of the trees was decorated with items from businesses in the Lindsay area.
Along with the trees are raffle tickets. The idea is to purchase tickets and placing the ticket with the tree(s) of your choice. The hope is you could win one of the trees you have selected, likely one that is decorated with items from your favourite store or service. The winner would then receive both the tree, and all the items that tree is decorated with.
Some of the businesses participating in this event include McLaughlin Dental Central, United Movers, and Kinsmen Club of Lindsay, to name a few.
The money raised will go to the Five Counties Children's Centre, who have been helping children reach their potential since 1975, a worthy cause.
Giving manager Carolyn Fox has been so pleased with the “phenomenal help” she has received from the volunteers who have given their time and assistance to bring this event together.
Last year Five Counties raised $17,000 from the Christmas tree event. This year’s event top that, bringing in $19,000!
The winners of the raffle will be posted on the Lindsay Winterfest facebook page.
