UXBRIDGE: The Uxbridge Rotary Club is celebrating 20 years of supporting the community and is throwing a fundraising event at Wooden Sticks Golf Club. “The Roaring Rotary Gala” will be taking place on Saturday, May 14 at 6 p.m..
The theme of the gala is the ‘roaring twenties’ so be sure to dress in the finest 1920’s attire. Tickets are $125 each or a table of 8 for $900.
The night will include: a cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, a live band, wine provided by Freixenet Wines, and a special draw for a pair of diamond earrings, valued at $1500 and donated by Scott Rutledge of Rutledge Jewelers. There will also be prizes for the best dressed. Marg Elliot of Marg’s Costumes is helping with designer items and accessories - from elegant dresses to tommy guns and fedoras, to feathers and head pieces,” said a member representing the club.
The Rotary Club of Uxbridge was founded in 1996 and continues to fulfill their motto of, “Service Above Self.” They serve communities both locally and internationally. The Rotary Club actively supports the youth of Uxbridge through programs like: Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Uxbridge Youth Centre, Literacy Programs, and many more.
Rotary International supports many international endeavors as well, such as: the Africycle program, Disaster Aid Canada, and donating medical supplies to places in need.
The Rotary Club of Uxbridge has supported various community needs for the last 20 years and plans to continue for at least the next 20.
