NORTH DURHAM: Several familiar names from North Durham made it onto the 2016 public sector salary disclosure list that was recently released.
The list, released annually by the provincial government, includes all Ontario public sector employees who earn an annual salary of $100,000 or more.
Three Scugog Township employees cracked this year’s ‘sunshine list.’ Fire Captain Todd Soomre was the highest earner, receiving $110,232.51. Fire Prevention Officer Gord Gettins was second, being paid $110,193.98. Newly retired fire chief Richard Miller made $107,297.61.
Five additional Uxbridge Township employees made it onto the list. CAO Ingrid Svelnis was the Township’s highest earner, taking home a salary of $149,420.04. Treasurer Donna Condon was the second highest township earner, with a yearly pay cheque of $119,406.38. Recently retired fire chief Scott Richardson earned $112,355.05. Both Director of Public Works Ben Kester and Township clerk Debbie Leroux earned $110,647.60.
Five Brock Township employees also cracked this year’s list. Township CAO Thomas Gettinby was the Township’s highest earner, being paid $141,961.14. Treasurer Laura Barta was second, taking home $119,195.50. Director of Public Works Nicholas Colucci made $107,106.44 and both Chief Building Official Joseph Bonura and Fire Chief Rick Harrison earned $100,077.85.
At the Regional level, Regional Chair Roger Anderson took home $214,680.30 and Police Chief Paul Martin made $247,274.20.
