SCUGOG: Sweet Maple, a restaurant in Port Perry, has recently come under new ownership.
A.J. and Shasha Anthony officially purchased the place on Saturday, Aug. 27th, in the hopes of providing quality service to all customers.
“I started working here when they opened. I have been here since last year and I thought it was worth buying,” A.J. said.
A.J. has been working in the culinary world since he was 17 years-old. He said his favourite part of the business is serving customers.
“I see the fun people everyday. I love to serve them,” he said.
A.J. credits his wife Shasha and the rest of his family with being big supporters of his plan to purchase the local restaurant.
Sweet Maple offers different specials everyday, including one specifically tailored for seniors, running every Wednesday.
-The deal offers seniors the opportunity to buy one breakfast meal and get another half price.
- Another special for people who come in to the restaurant on their birthday is a free meal for that individual.
A.J. explained that the restaurant has a very kind staff.
“All the staff are nice and friendly all year,” he said. “We like to treat everyone nice and serve them better.”
Sweet Maple is also willing to stay open past their regular restaurant hours to hold parties and 'get togethers'. They are willing to accommodate groups of 20 to 50 people.
Sweet Maple is located at 20 Water St. For more information on the restaurant, their hours, or their menu, look up Sweet Maple on Facebook.
