KAWARTHA LAKES: Local MP Jamie Schmale is pleased to announce, he will be teaming up with Canadian Blood Services to host a Blood Donor Clinic in Sunderland on July 7th, 2017.
“The life-saving power of blood donations is the best gift you can give, to help the millions of patients every year who need transfusions," said Schmale. “Half of the Canadian population is eligible to donate, but only four per cent of people do.”
The clinic will be held at the Sunderland Memorial Arena, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., on July 7th, 2017. MP Schmale is hoping donors will bring a friend, or make it an event by donating as a group.
Canadian Blood Services has recently called on the public to help reduce a nationwide blood shortage that's reached, what it calls, a critical level.
“I am hoping that residents of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock will be willing to roll up their sleeves [for] a well needed cause,” remarked Schmale.
