KAWARTHA LAKES: A new local pharmacy store opened recently in Little Britain.
Pharmasave opened their new store at 415 Eldon Rd., on Tuesday, July 12th.
Pharmacist Carol Samuel has 15 years of experience in the industry. She explained to The Standard, the Little Britain community means a lot to her.
“I've worked in many pharmacies but this is our first business to open. I want to give it my all, and make it a successful pharmacy that provides the best healthcare for the community," Mrs. Samuel said.
She also said what sets this store apart from others is that patient care and interest comes first.
"We have more time for patients," Mrs. Samuel said. "We are here to answer the people's questions and educate them on medications .”
The Little Britain Pharmasave also offers many free services, including medication review, local delivery (Little Britain, Valentia, Washburn Island, Ball Point, Oakwood and Manila), prescription transfer, compliance packaging and flu vaccination. Mrs. Samuel said there was a need for this type of business in the area.
"If (residents) needed over the counter medication, they would have to travel for 15 minutes or more ," she said. "having a pharmacy in town is very handy and it makes getting medications easy and fast.”
Pharmasave will be holding a grand opening event, on Friday, Oct. 7th, at 11 a.m., and guests are expected to include Mayor Andy Letham and the executive director of Kawartha Lakes family health team, Mike Perry.
