SCUGOG: There will be a volunteer kickoff meeting next Thursday for the Lake Scugog Enhancement Project.
The meeting will be held on January 25, and is expected to include information on the project and its benefits, as well as the fundraising plan, fundraising team structure, brainstorming for opportunities and how the local community can help out. There will also be information on the project’s next steps.
The project will include dredging a large portion of Lake Scugog in Port Perry and its goal is to “deal with an overabundance of invasive aquatic plants and sediment that has accumulated over decades “ in Lake Scugog.
The meeting will take place in the Rotary Room at the Scugog Memorial Public Library. A meet and greet will take place starting at 6:30 p.m., and the program will run from 7 p.m. until 8:45 p.m.
