SCUGOG: Solomon’s Castle plans on bringing big smiles to the children and parents of Port Perry as they kick off their grand opening on January 27th.
Admission to use the castles will be free for the grand opening. There will also be light refreshments, as well as a free raffle with a grand prize valued at $295.
Solomon’s Castle is a not-for-profit organization, run through Victory Christian Centre, at 593 Alma street.
The church initially purchased the inflatable castles in the fall of 2017 and has received a great response from the parents and children who use them, according to Pastor John Benschop.
He said, “The kids love it and the parents are staying after the service to play with their kids there, so why not give the opportunity to other parents to do the same.”
Pastor John told the Standard, he is trying to increase the interaction between parents and their children, through the jumping castles. Solomon’s Castle is providing a space where parents can actively play with their kids.
“It’s something that is new in the town, and parents just love being able to be a part of it rather than just dropping their kids off and letting somebody else watch them,” Pastor John said.
The jumping castle is inside of a gymnasium connected to the church, and an array of sports or other activities can be enjoyed in conjunction with the inflatable castles.
“We can facilitate volleyball games, floor hockey games, and basketball games. Solomon’s castle is a lot more than just the jumping castles.” Jim Howard said, “We can offer air hockey, pool tables, and a full cafeteria. We have all the amenities.
It can be all inclusive or as inclusive as they wish it to be. They can pick and choose, we are versatile.”
Solomon’s Castle is accepting bookings for anybody who would like to throw private functions, day cares, or birthday parties at a relatively low cost.
Instead of paying $900 to rent a bouncing castle for the day, pay $179 to Solomon’s castle and rent their indoor facility for two hours.
For a birthday package, pay $295, and receive pizza, soft drinks, and chips, as well as cake if requested. The facility can be used by the party group for two hours and can accommodate up to 20 kids.
Families can also use the castle recreationally as well, on Saturdays. The facility is open to the public, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, for $5 a person.
Children who are enrolled in the “Kidz Zone” Sunday school program at Victory Christian Centre can use the facility for free, on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
To rent the inflatable castle space for a school group, daycare, birthday party, family reunion, or private function, call Victory Christian Centre main office, at 905-985-1346, between Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Grand opening is not to be missed, admission is free, and it starts at 10:00 a.m. January 27th, at Victory Christian Centre, 593 Alma Street.
Pastor John encourages everybody in the area to come out, for a day of family fun and interaction.
