UXBRIDGE: The public is being invited to a full day of fun at the Uxbridge Arena, on Saturday, Oct. 15th, to help support Josh Morrison’s Pennies4Homes campaign.
From noon until 5 p.m., there will be a free family fun fair, that will include a dunk tank, carnival games, Bonner Boys Slap Shot Radar and a photo booth. Kids will also have the opportunity to meet Anna from Frozen.
Josh wanted to stress that this event features fun events, tailored for all ages, such as pumpkin tic tac toe. He also explained why he chose to put on a fun fair.
“The Township of Uxbridge said they would donate a facility for a fundraiser and we chose the biggest one. The public school I went to had a fun fair, so I thought it would be a great way to get everyone involved,” he said.
From 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., there will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser held. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years of age and under. For a family of four, tickets are $25. The tickets can be bought at Quilters Cupboard, Little Acorn, or on-line at SnapdTix.com, as well as at the door. All of the pasta and sauce has been donated by Primo.
As well as a meal, the fundraiser will also feature live entertainment, by local performers Robyn Ottolini, Dawna Huizenga, Madison Holder and Carlie Laidlaw and Friends. There will also be a silent auction, featuring over 40 items donated by local businesses.
As of press time, Josh’s campaign has raised about $46,000. His campaign’s goal is to raise $100,000 for a Habitat for Humanity project in Oshawa, known as the Penny House.
