KAWARTHA LAKES: The Citizens for Direct Democracy (C4DD), along with the The Trillium Party of Ontario, The Ontario Landowners Association and The Voices of Central Ontario will be holding an information meeting in Fenelon Falls next Saturday, January 20th.
The meeting will be held at the Senior Citizens Club, located at 58 Murray St. starting at 1:30 p.m.
“I think what people should come out of [the meeting] with is a what direct democracy is, and how it is a new way to run society,” Peter Weygang from C4DD told The Standard.
Direct Democracy is a form or democracy where residents decide on policy initiatives with a general vote.
“When people come together and use common sense, they make wise decisions,” Mr. Weygang said.
He added that with a provincial election upcoming, this meeting gives the Trillium Party a forum to make the public aware of their campaign.
