SCUGOG: The community has extended their sympathy and support to the family of Tyler Hanson, a 12-year-old boy from Prince Albert who passed away as a result of a tragic accident on Monday, Sept. 21.
Last week, a fundraising campaign began to assist his family- parents Troy and Adrianna and brother Travis- to help with funeral costs, post secondary education and other expenses.
The campaign has had a tremendous response, and those wishing to donate can do so on-line at www.gofundme.com/vg4pz7kk.
The family of Tyler Hanson will receive friends at the Scugog Community Recreation Centre, located at 1655 Reach St. in Port Perry on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 5 to 9 p.m.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at the Scugog Community Recreation Centre, on Thursday, Oct. 1, gathering at 6 p.m. with service beginning at 6:30 p.m., and a reception to follow. As a tribute to Tyler, Port Perry Predators players are encouraged to wear their jerseys.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, consideration for donations may be made to the Port Perry Minor Hockey Association or The New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge and Scugog.
Memories, photos and condolences may be shared on-line at www.waggfuneralhome.com.
