Anytime fitness is celebrating its grand reopening on November 20th, where members and non-members can come to learn about the gym, receive gifts, and win prizes.
During the grand reopening, the gym’s new owners Shane and Anna Sanford will be offering fascial stretch therapy demonstrations, indoor golf assessments, and answering any questions members or non-members may have.
Shane and Anna have each worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years with backgrounds in personal training and kinesiology. They are both very excited to work in a tightly knit community like Port Perry, and are looking forward to helping their members reach their fitness goals.
“We want people to join, stay and be successful. We are going to try to do everything we can to help each individual member be successful at our gym,” Anna said. “You’re going to be supported here, you just need to approach us and ask.”
Shane and Anna are going to have a strong presence in the gym, unlike the previous owners, Shane and Anna have a background in the fitness industry.
“The previous owners did a great job with the membership base and the running the business of the club, but they were not trainers or educated kinesiologists so they didn’t have that part to offer to the members, whereas we do,” Anna said. “Come ask us stuff, come talk to us about your workouts, not just about your membership.”
The two owners, pride themselves on maintaining a clean, modern, and welcoming gym atmosphere.
“We want to pride ourselves on having a family-style orientated gym where everyone feels welcome even if you have no idea what you’re doing, somebody is always here to help during staffed hours,” Shane said.
The gym offers one on one personal training as well as Zumba, strength, and spinning classes to all Anytime Fitness members.
The gym has a wide array of workout machines for both strength and cardio, as well as a fantastic free weight area.
Working out is an integral part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and feeling good.
“The better shape you are in the less likely you are to get sick, the less likely you are to get injured, and your health and productivity with family or at work is improved,” Shane said.
Inactivity and the health problems that come with it are currently costing the Canadian health care system billions of dollars.
