President & CEO Lakeridge Health
As we work to reopen the Port Perry Hospital, Lakeridge Health is focused on ensuring the North Durham community has access to safe, quality care. We are joining with our physician partners at the Medical Associates of Port Perry, to provide new services and access to more urgent care for people living in North Durham. This means people with complex health needs can receive care and treatment closer to home.
In addition to extending its urgent care and x-ray hours, the Medical Associates of Port Perry is now offering care for illnesses and conditions you would have sought treatment for in the Emergency Department. These include stitches for treating cuts and lacerations, casting of some fractures, and addressing issues with urinary catheters. The Medical Associates of Port Perry also has the equipment to address eye concerns and medication to treat non-emergency conditions like mild asthma flares and croup.
We’re extremely fortunate to have the support of community partners like the Medical Associates of Port Perry. The urgent care specialists are able to treat many conditions during the temporary closure of services at Port Perry Hospital, keeping services in the community.
It is important to remember that if you are in crisis, please call 9-1-1 immediately. The skilled EMS response team will determine what level of care you need and ensure you get to the right place for treatment.
We want to thank our partners, staff, physicians, volunteers and North Durham residents for their continued support and patience during the temporary closure of Port Perry Hospital. We hope to share more information with you soon on our ongoing efforts to restore and reopen the hospital.
