SCUGOG: A 15-year-old male was arrested after a bomb threat was directed at a Port Perry high school on Tuesday, May 10.
t approximately 7:30 a.m., officers in North Division responded to Port Perry High School on Rosa St. after a 911 caller indicated that there was a bomb at the school. Police quickly determined that the call originated from a cellphone and identified the cellphone subscriber. The suspect, a student at the school, was arrested as he arrived on the property.
The school was searched and cleared by officers. At the time of the threat, the school was occupied by staff members and students that were participating in before-school activities. The investigation determined that the school was never in danger and the call was intended as a prank.
A 15-year-old male from Port Perry is charged with: Uttering Threats. He was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
