DAN CEARNS The Standard
SCUGOG: The Auxiliary to Lakeridge Health Port Perry will be holding their 11th annual Polar Plunge, on Saturday, February 3rd.
The event, which annually sees around 60 people take the icy dive into Lake Scugog, will begin at 2 p.m.
The auxiliary encourages participants to dress up in crazy costumes and those not participating to come out and cheer on the plungers.
There will be hot chocolate and coffee available on site, as well as polar bear cookies or other homemade treats. People can also have their photo taken with a friendly polar bear.
Participants must raise $200 in pledges, or $100 each if you are part of a team of four or more.
To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Ruth at 905-985-6232. The auxiliary asks that participants register ahead of the day of the plunge, so that the volunteer committee is prepared for them.
