Special to The Standard
LINDSAY: The Lindsay Muskies suffered their second lopsided loss, in as many games, falling to the Trenton Golden Hawks on Wednesday night, by a score of 8-2.
The home town Hawks got on the board right away, when Liam Morgan picked up his first of two goals just 37 seconds in, from Austin Bottrell and Lucas Brown. At 5:14, Bottrell made it 2-0 from Morgan and Cal Walker, but on a Lindsay power play Cam Robinson got the Fish within one, from Noah Dollo and Kyle Diamond. That goal came at 8:24, but it didn’t take long for Trenton to respond as Morgan scored again, from Bottrell and Brown at 9:12, for a 3-1 lead that Trenton would take to the dressing room.
In the second the Hawks put the hammer down. Dawson Baker scored his first of two, from Ben Scheel and Rex Moe, at 3:50, then on a power play, at 9:12, it was Chris Sekelyk from Andrew Cordssen-David and Bottrell. Baker scored again from Moe, just over a minute later, then with just 31 seconds left in the period, on a power play, it was Jordan Chard from Bottrell and Sekelyk to give Trenton a very commanding 7-1 lead.
Brett Poulin picked up his second goal, in as many games, at 5:12 of the third, from Owen Barnett and Dollo, but Sekelyk’s second of the night rounded out the scoring, from Jeremy Pullard at 17:09.
