Special to The Standard
LINDSAY: The Lindsay Muskies were proud to learn that defenseman Braeden Kublick, and Assistant Coach Jon Campbell were each selected to partake in this year’s Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge tournament. The tournament which takes place in Cornwall, from November 14th to 16th this year, is made of multiple teams from the OJHL (Ontario), CCHL (Eastern Ontario), NOJHL (Northern Ontario), LHJAAAQ (Quebec), and MHL (Maritimes).
Kublick is a 6’ 3”, 205 pound, second year Muskie, from Cavan. He said, after Friday night’s game against Cobourg, he is very excited and proud to have been selected to the team, and is looking forward to the high level of competition. He also said, he learned of his selection through a text from his defense partner Cole Robbins, while he was at work, at Tim Horton’s in Peterborough. Kublick has shown great improvement in his game in his second full year of Jr. A, and has taken on more of a leadership role while working on improving his two way game. He will be suiting up for Team Hawerchuck.
Just as excited to be behind the bench of Team Nieuwendyk, is Lindsay Muskies third year Assistant Coach, Jon Campbell.
The selection is Campbell’s first time at this tournament. “I’m excited to be involved”, he said Friday night. “The tournament will be a high tempo event, with 80 of the best Jr. A players in Eastern Canada”. Before coming to coach in Lindsay, Campbell spent time as an assistant with the Cougars, was a GM and Head Coach in Port Hope Jr. C, then a Head Coach with the Port Perry Mojacks Jr. C.
