The Aboriginal day celebrations held on Saturday was a good event, except for a bit of a rain storm, and the Fireworks went off just shortly after dusk,
Friday June 23rd, is the Election day on the First Nation, there are 3 candidates running for 2 council positions, good luck to all 3. Election time starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 8 p.m. at which time the ballots will be counted and announced, election is held at The Band Administrated building.
The next event on the First Nation will be the Pow Wow. This year it is being held on July 15th and 16th, with each day beginning with a Sunrise Ceremony. Women are asked to wear long skirts to the Sun Rise Ceremony, please. This will be followed by Breakfast for those in attendance. Each day the Grand Entry is for 12 noon, please remember to bring your own chairs, and absolutely no dogs/pets. This is a drug and alcohol free event. There is rough camping available. Call to worship, on this special Father's Day service, was called by the Rev. Michele Hofman, a warm greeting went out to those in attendance.
