Happy New Year everyone. Let’s hope that the deep cold will stop the spread of the nasty flu bug, which has hit so many families over the holiday. What a time to have whole households sick.
There will be a Blackstock Fair Board meeting on January 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the Rec Centre.
Our community was saddened by the news of the passing of Bill Lishman, of Purple Hill, on Saturday. Bill was of international fame for his welding expertise and his forward thinking and future-minded ideas. Of course he is remembered for the movie, ”Fly Away Home,” and his underground round house. Sympathy is extended to his wife Paula and family Aaron, Geordie, and Carman.
The Christmas services at church attracted large congregations when the Christmas story and great music was enjoyed.
Elain Rivett, Jocelyn, and Adam of Cookstown spent New Year’s Eve overnight with Joyce Kelly, staying for the family dinner on Monday.
There was no card party on Boxing Day evening, but it will resume this week. The Blackstock Euchre Club holds games each Tuesday evening at the Church hall, beginning at 7:30 sharp. Come and join the fun.
