On Fathers day weekend, my son received a parking ticket while he was parked outside our own home, due to a complaint from a neighbour, three doors down, complaining we parked longer than three hours.
First of all, we won't even discuss this mean spirited woman. I realize the bylaw department has to act on complaints, but come on, on Fathers day weekend?
We had moved cars around, so that my 86 year old father could park in the driveway. The bylaw department has the discretion to act on these complaints or not but clearly only saw the revenue this day, and not the significance of the day. To top it all off, on Sunday the street was lined with cars and not one ticket was handed out.
I feel this bylaw needs to be revisited, as the majority of homes in this subdivision, only have driveways for two cars each, and in this day and age more people are living at home longer, so the bylaw doesn't seem sufficient. I would like to remind people this was just a mean spirited, spiteful complaint, the reason for it I am at odds with. No snowplows needed to get down the street, there was plenty of room for road traffic still, it was just plain old bullying!
