UXBRIDGE: The theme of the 153rd Fair is “Made In Canada, Eh! The Fair dates are the 8th -10th and Canada’s Sesquicentennial will be acknowledged.
One of the new attractions is the “Great Uxbridge Carrot Cake Caper.” The object is to determine who makes the best carrot cake in Uxbridge.
Your carrot cake will provide free entry to the Fair, on Sunday. There will be more than $110 in prizes Entries. Recipes should arrive in the Fair Office by Noon Sunday. The contest is open to private and professional bakers alike. All cakes will be part of a silent auction, with proceeds supporting the Fair’s annual Uxbridge Secondary Student Award.
The transfer, of operation of the Demolition Derby, back to the Fair last season was well received. The involvement of the Bonner Boys is much appreciated. There are plans for an expansion of events and an increase in prize money. Please visit www.uxbridgefair.ca for details.
Keep in mind that the Fair’s new Midway provider, World’s Finest Shows Inc., will be offering, towards the end of August, the sale of day passes for the Midway, at a discounted price. These will be available in limited quantities, at Canadian Tire Uxbridge and Sugar FX.
Like the rest of our great community of Uxbridge, the Fair runs on volunteers. We have an acute need for assistance, to set up the Produce section on Wednesday and Thursday, and for general disassembly on Sunday afternoon.
Please contact Bev Harrison at 905-852-5877 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you can assist.
