UXBRIDGE: And then there were seven.
Bob Harrison filed his nomination papers last week, becoming the latest local resident to throw his hat into the ring for the vacant Ward 3 seat on council.
Mr. Harrison finished as the runner-up to Pat Mikuse in Ward 3 in last fall’s municipal election. The seat became vacant in July, when Ms. Mikuse passed away.
There are now seven candidates vying for the position, which will be determined on Nov. 23 through a by-election. Dave Granic, Bev Northeast, John Haddock, Lynn Klages, Ted Eng and Gord Baxter are also vying for the job of Ward 3 Councillor.
According to township Elections Assistant Lauren Orav, ballots will be mailed out to Ward 3 residents on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and the last day for voters to mail their ballots in to ensure they are counted is Monday, Nov. 9. Ballots can be dropped off in person at Town Hall, located at 51 Toronto St. South until election day on Monday, Nov. 23.
Additional information on the Ward 3 by-election, can be found on the township’ web site at www.town.uxbridge.on.ca.
