UXBRIDGE: Township of Uxbridge council cost taxpayers a little over $310,000 in 2016.
As a requirement of the municipal act, township treasurer Donna Condon provided a report to council on Monday, March 6th, that showed each member of council’s remuneration and expenses in the year 2016.
Mayor Gerri Lynn O’Connor was paid; $47,822 in remuneration and benefits, $5,145 in car allowance and $1,268.94 in meeting expenses. Adding seminar and conference costs brought the mayor’s total to a little under $55,000.
Next highest on the list was Ward 5 Councillor Gord Highet, with a total of $44,567, followed by Ward 2 Councillor Pat Molloy, with a total of $44,155 and Ward 4 Councillor Fred Bryan, at $44,115. Ward 1 Councillor Pam Beach, was next with a total of $43,063, followed by Ward 3 Councillor Dave Barton, with a total of $42,445.
Regional Councillor Jack Ballinger had the lowest total at $36,869. However, he explained that he no longer pays into the township’s benefit program.
Councillor Bryan had the highest seminar and conference costs at $995.40. Councillor Highet had the highest charity function cost at $551.
