SCUGOG: Tickets are going fast for the Syrian refugee benefit concert, “Live at the Town hall” at Town Hall 1873 Centre for the Performing Arts in Port Perry.
The show starts at 7:00 p.m on Apr. 1., so make sure to show up early and grab a ticket at the door before the last few tickets sell out! This is an all ages show and tickets are $30.
All proceeds from this benefit concert will be going to the Syrian Refugee Sponsorship program.
This musical event features 5 of the Toronto area’s top performing bands. There will be two pop rock bands, a jazz band, a country band, and a Led Zeppelin Cover Band performing throughout the night.
The concert will be MC’d by Voice Recording Artist,. Anil Maharaj with comedic acts in between music sets to keep the energy up.
Door prizes will be handed out to lucky ticket holders, as well as a t-shirt toss from the stage.
Blackfly Guitar Shop is donating a custom, hand-crafted electric guitar worth $1,500, specifically carved for this Syrian benefit concert, featuring a star from the Syrian flag, pearl-inlaid into the neck of the guitar.
You can enter by purchasing a $10 raffle ticket at the concert and wait to hear if you have the winning ticket at the end of the show.
Tracey Green, Event Organizer for “Live at the Townhall” is ecstatic due to the amount of support shown by the community for this benefit concert. “We are practically sold out already”, said Ms. Green. “Not only will this event help in our efforts to support the refugees from Syria, but it will make a strong statement that we as a community stand proud together.”
This event is being put on entirely by the help and support of volunteers. All of the bands are volunteering their time to the show as well as all stage techs, lighting, and audio engineers.
