SCUGOG: Durham Region will be accepting hazardous and electronic waste for free in Port Perry this Saturday, Oct. 17, as part of a special collection event.
The waste collection event will be held at the boat launch located at 2 Old Rail Lane, and will run from 8 a.m until noon.
Some of the hazardous waste options that the region will accept include brake fluid, any pesticides or fertilizers, any propane, or oxygen tanks, motor oil or filters, medication, syringes and paints. Any electronic item will also be accepted.
There will be trained staff on site to remove hazardous waste from your vehicle.
Residents are also asked by the region to bring a non perishable food item for the local food bank. They are also asked to make sure that all lids on containers are tightly sealed.
