KAWARTHA LAKES: From May through to October, local farmers and producers will once again offer a wide selection of farm fresh vegetables and fruits, beef and lamb, baked goods, honey and crafts.
Farmers’ markets provide residents and visitors an opportunity to explore downtown areas and experience the flavour of our small towns. Developed by a number of dedicated individuals and local businesses, the main objective of farmers’ markets is to bring local food to local consumers.
There will be four farmers markets running this season in the Kawartha Lakes.
The Bobcaygeon Farmers market will take place at the fairgrounds at 47 Mansfield St., just south of King St, and will run each Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. from May 21 until Oct. 8.
The Lindsay Farmers Market will take place on Victoria Ave. between Kent St. & Peel St., and will run every Saturday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. from May 7 until Oct. 29.
The Fenelon Falls Farmers Market will be held in downtown Fenelon Falls from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. every Friday from May 20 until Oct. 7.
The Kinmount Farmers Market will be held at the Austin Sawmill Heritage Park in the downtown core from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday from now until Oct. 8.
