SCUGOG: A 41 year-old man from Clarington has died after a single motor vehicle collision in Scugog on Saturday, June 11.
At about 8:10 p.m., North Division officers were called to Regional Rd. 57 and Scugog Point Rd. regarding a vehicle that was found rolled over in a ditch.
A black Honda Civic was travelling northbound on Regional Rd. 57 approaching Scugog Point Rd. when it left the roadway and rolled several times into the ditch. The vehicle sustained extensive damage as a result of the fatal accident.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the rollover. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. Police believe that alcohol was a factor.
