UXBRIDGE: The Bonner Boys made it official this week that the local group would be taking over organizing duties for the popular summertime Ribfest in 2015.
The event is scheduled to be held in Elgin Park from July 17 to 19, next year.
“We knew that the event was looking for support to allow the original organizer to be able to move on,” Bonner Boys member Bob Ferguson told The Standard. “We think that it has been a great event for the community, and we didn’t want to see it go by the wayside.”
Mr. Ferguson added that the event will have some new features as the Bonner Boys take over organization this summer, but won’t abandon what has made the event so successful in Elgin Park since its return to the community in 2012.
“The Bonner Boys are hoping to make Ribfest a bigger, and even better event for the Uxbridge community, and we’ve got some great ideas that we’re excited to share once everything we’re planning is finalized,” said Mr. Ferguson.
With several months to plan for the event this summer, the group is looking forward to continuing this annual event in Uxbridge.
“We’re all very excited to be taking Ribfest over, this is one event that the residents of Uxbridge and the surrounding area won’t want to miss,” added Mr. Ferguson.
