SCUGOG: A 30-year-old man from Blackstock was seriously injured when his motorcycle struck a dog late on Saturday, April 23.
At about 8:40 p.m., police were called to the scene of a collision on Church St. in Blackstock. A witness reported that a Yamaha off-road motorcycle struck a dog and lost control.
The driver sustained a serious head injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He was later transported to a trauma centre in Toronto by air ambulance, where he remains in serious condition.
The dog died at the scene. The roadway was closed for several hours while members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, conducted an investigation. Police believe that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
